Debi Piette

Debi joined Corbin Design in October of 2018 as our business manager. Debi assists with the management of the office operations and staff, and leads efforts in process improvement. She also keeps track of the numbers at Corbin Design—for both our firm and our clients—while making sure that the people involved never feel like numbers themselves. Debi also administers the company benefits programs and other HR-related responsibilities. She loves that her position offers a lot of variety in tasks and aspects of the company she works with. She also appreciates that we’re an ESOP, making it feel like she has a real stake in the company.

Before working for Corbin Design, Debi was the general manager at Higher Grounds Trading Co., a specialty coffee company. Originally heralding from the transportation industry, Debi founded a delivery company in 2006 that, at the time of sale in 2015, generated annual revenues of 4.2 million dollars. Based in Traverse City, MI, her company provided high-quality service that led to the opening of a second facility in Grand Rapids, MI, in 2011. The company employed up to 25 people and contracted with 32 independent contract drivers. She led the organization through expansion challenges while attaining 25%-35% growth each year.

Originally from Detroit, she’s been calling Traverse City home for 18 years and loves the access to the forests and lakes it offers. When she’s not working to keep Corbin Design in the black, Debi enjoys fishing, gardening, camping, and otherwise enjoying the beautiful landscape of Northern Michigan.
